Our logo is a reflection of the company’s roots, values, and connection to New Mexico’s landscape. The blue and grey colors represent the founder and principal geologist’s Naval career, while the darker blue ‘S’ stands for Southwest and also symbolizes Tijeras Creek, which flows along the Tijeras Fault, separating the Sandia and Manzanita mountain ranges. The silhouette of the mountains and sky forms the ‘W’ in Southwest, representing the Sandia Mountains (left), the Manzanita Mountains (center), and the Manzano Mountains (right), the primary north-south mountain range visible east of Albuquerque, NM, where our business is based. The subtle ‘G’ in ‘Geophysical’ is crafted from the logo’s border and the cave in the lower right, representing our passion for cave exploration, mapping, and research. Lastly, the yucca plant is included as a personal touch, reflecting the owner’s fondness for this resilient desert plant.
